The Elevate program is an integrated, district-led approach to teacher development. Indiana Wesleyan University partnered with Teachworthy and Capturing Kids’ Hearts to offer an accelerated path to degree completion and teacher certification – all while serving as a classroom instructor.

As a partner district, you can offer an accelerated path to a 4-year degree and teacher certification for any non-degreed employee you invite to participate. How it Works?

A district-led, innovative partnership with Teachworthy & IWU

Step 1. Partner with Teachworthy
Educator Development & Teacher Certification
  • Teachworthy integrates its TEA-recognized education training and teacher certification process in your district
  • Candidates receive SEL and classroom management training and certification through our partner, Capturing Kids’ Hearts.
  • Prepare successful first-year teachers & provide teacher certification.
Step 2. Partner with IWU
Local Training & Degree Pathway
  • IWU works with your district to develop a district-led professional development program that IWU converts into as many as 40 credits toward a degree.
  • IWU accepts up to 90 credits from prior college experience.
  • Candidates complete the remaining coursework toward a B.S. degree through IWU.
Step 3. Select & Train Program Candidates
Eligible Paraprofessionals & Staff
  • Select 10 or more program candidates
  • Create supportive development cohorts
  • Deliver professional development that counts toward the IWU degree
